Norman Lloyd Star Trek staged the first American production of Brechts Galileo, starring Charles Laughton in 1947 and other Broadway productions, including: Lloyd participated in an early experiment in the medium, appearing in NBCs 1939 The Streets of New York, directed by Anthony Mann and featuring Jennifer Jones (then Phyllis Isley). / Late in his career, he made guest appearances on TV shows Star Trek: The Next Generation, The Practice, and Wings. He was regularly on the show Seven Days and appeared in an episode of ABCs Modern Family in 2010. He was born in Shelby, North Carolina to a working-class family and dropped out of school in the second grade to take on work for the family.
